Hi Running Community,
I have a couple of friends running the Canyon Meadow Trail Run on Sunday, March 20th for the 30 km distance, and I'll be trying to run the 50 km distance that day. Both my friends are very fast runners, and I know they both most likely will finish a lot earlier than I will. Most likely, gleaming from the weather forecast, it will rain so I would hate for them to wait many hours for me to finish as I'm sure they would already be cold and tired from finishing their own race. If someone is volunteering or running on that day and estimated to finish around closing time/nine hour cutoff who lives in my area of San Ramon/Danville then I would love a ride back with you or even if you can drop me off at a BART station so I can BART my way to the Dublin station stop would be wonderful. I'm not a particularly fast runner especially as I don't run too fast in rain and muddy conditions so my worst scenario would be taking the full nine hours to finish my race. Of course I would be very ecstatic to finish faster than nine hours, but with mother nature working against us runners I would like to estimate on the conservative side. Six days later, I'm hoping to run the Golden Gate 50 miler, and I may need a ride there and/or back. I have a friend volunteering for the race, but I'm not sure if she'll get a shift at the beginning of the race (I can ride with her there) or at the end of the race (I can ride with her back home) so any runners or volunteers living in my area who don't mind giving me a lift there or back would be appreciated. I can offer funny stories and gas money in return, and if your car gets stuck in the mud then I bring out my inner ox and can push as well. Thank you very much for reading my long request. Happy running and/or thank you very much if you are volunteering!
All the Best,
Maggie From San Ramon
