As frequent users of California State Parks, we have cause for concern as many are threatened by potential closures due to California state budget issues. Heath Hen Films has captured the California state park crisis in their documentary appropriately named The First 70. 70 California state parks have been identified for closure. The closure of these parks should be of great concern to anyone who is an outdoor enthusiast. Join us on Earth Day for a special screening of The First 70 and learn more about the California State Park closures and what you can do to help. Correction. The course turns right on Bootjack at bottom of Ben Johnson. (Bootjack is still closed to the left.) Then up Eastwood and direct connector trail to Eastwood Camp. The course is very well marked. See everyone tomorrow! Wendell

Blaine,
Thanks for the input. Yes, you're right, the yellow loop description is overly simplified. I'm marking that section personally and it will be very well marked. Please note that at Pantoll the course will be marked through the campground to get to the Stapleveldt Trail. And to get to Sierra, we'll turn left at the bottom of Ben Johnson and take Bootjack.
See you tomorrow morning! Wendell

The two courses are about the same difficulty. I'd say that Steep Ravine is now more technical since the new course goes down the infamous Dipsea trail. It's a pretty short section (~ 1/4 mi), though, and worth the experience.

Scott,
No, the times were not adjusted. Results are correct. Both automated and manual records have you finishing at 1:44:52.
Thanks for running!

The ZombieRunner Bay Trail Half Marathon course is flat and the surface is smooth. Road shoes are recommended for this one. Average temps are 40F - 58F. See you then!
