Hi all,
I did the Skyline to the Sea 50K last year and that was a killer. The hills were rough and I was under-prepared.
Are there any other 50Ks that are easier? (I know that sounds weird).
Thanks, Robin

I did this one last year as my first 50k. It wasn't a problem for me. Lots of single track, under the trees, really pretty trails.

Hi Robin,
I'm doing Way Too Cool 50K on 3/4/17 as my first 50K because I've heard it's a really good, not too hard 50K - not sure if there are spots left, but you should check it out!

Hey Robin, Great job clocking in around 6:30 for the Big Basin 50k. I came in a hour after you. I wasn't trying to pr on the course as it's such a beautiful course to run that it's almost nice to do a slow long run. Anyway to answer your question, I would highly recommend the Bizz Johnson race in October. The weather will be perfect as it's early fall, and the course is pretty flat or net downhill so technically it slopes down with no big hills or any hills for that matter/so basically no climbing. It's also a very beautiful course, and a lot of people run the marathon distance to use it to qualify for road races such as the Boston and New York marathons. Out of all my 50k distance races, I pr'ed on this one at 6:30 so I would imagine you would as well with a 5:30 or better time. The atmosphere afterwards is pretty laidback with a barbeque and beers awaiting your finish so I would highly recommend this race for the beautiful scenery and the camaraderie from the other trail runners. The owners are pretty cool too, and I recommend getting to know them. I wanted to run one or two races with them to fulfill a bucket list wish, but I ended up running nine of their races in nine months. I probably volunteered for them over a dozen times, and they've covered my races in return. It was a win-win situation for me as I used my volunteering time to cheer for my friends when they ran. So basically CTR really takes good care of their runners. I hope all this information helps, and that you give CTR another try. If I'm volunteering, I'll gladly cheer you on at either the aid station or finish line. Just remember to "Have fun out there!" All the Best, Maggie

Thank you Maggie. Super helpful.
I went out too fast so really struggled in the 50K, but glad I did it.
